Well, a couple of years ago, I began writing a mini-series for my little sister. Only now have I began to type them up. The basic plot (as it all began around a private joke and can therefore be quite confusing to others) is that Anna and Nina are Police Paramedics, ie. they do both jobs. Bearing in mind I was a 12 year old writing for an 8 year old at the start, there's several content errors. It does get better, honest.
Oh, and believe it or not, this part is 2 1/2 pages when handwritten in the notebook.
Chapter 1
“Nina!” Anna Thomas called across the hospital car park. “We got a shout!”
“Coming!” Nina replied, kissing her husband John. She ran to the ambulance and slid into the passenger seat next to Anna. “What’ve we got?”
“Brook Street, man’s got chest problems in Five Lions,” Anna informed her, starting the siren up. “Oh, and Dean gave me a message from Phil. He said he can’t babysit tonight, ‘cause he’s going out with Helen.”
“Typical Phil,” Nina sighed. “I’ll have to see if Ellen’s free.”
“But you said-” Anna began, braking. “Sarah’s having Lauren tonight. I’ll see if she can have Becca as well.”
“Thanks,” Nina smiled, opening the door and grabbing the bag. She followed Anna into the Five Lions pub. “Right, what’ve we got?”
+ +
“Peter Reid, 52, suffered heart attack in Five Lions, suspected alcohol related, BP 100 over 60” Nina announced as she and Anna wheeled the patient into Raeburn General Hospital.
“Alright, thanks, we’ll take it from here,” John Baker smiled. He took the trolley from his wife and pushed it into a side ward. Nina and Anna turned away, heading to the ambulance station, ready to take another call.
Anna and Nina weren’t just ordinary paramedics; they worked for the police force as well. This sometimes made their work difficult, but usually it made things a lot easier. They could take skills from one job to use in the other.
“Stupid traffic,” Nina cursed as she drove to the police station a few hours later in her silver Nissan. Anna couldn’t help but laugh at her friend’s road rage. Eventually they made it, but Nina still showed signs of frustration.
“Anna!” Dean Thomas greeted his younger sister with a hug. “You and Nina are wanted in CID. Oh, and Nin, Robbo says he’d babysit, but-”
“Yeah, we know,” Nina snapped. “He’s too busy, too.”
