Umm i can't think of a title, and im not quite sure if this is the right board. It's the opening of a murder mystery story for English i had to write, but i quite like it so i might write some more as i've got a few ideas ;D But they will probably take a while to put together.
Anyway here it is ;D
Out of all the places we could of gone to, we had to go here. It was almost midnight and I still hadn’t managed to get any sleep. Why couldn’t I just blank everything out? Outside the rain was still pounding down, like it had been all day. The wind was howling and the branches of the rotting trees kept hitting the cracked windows. The moon was shining through the ever fading curtains, and the floorboards of the ancient hotel kept creaking. Also the quilt which laid across me was wafer thin, and like the sheets, it came with several stains and holes, reminding me of the other people who had previously slept in this bed. To make matters worse, I was freezing.
It was around 2’oclock, when I was suddenly awoken, by an ear piercing scream. From the room next door. My head shot off my pillow. As I sat up in my bed I saw a dark shadow creep across the floor of my room. It looked like it was holding something sharp. But I wasn’t sure. Then after several minutes of deadly silence there was another scream, but this time it wasn’t so loud, it was more of a whimper. Something didn’t feel right.
I leapt out, of my bed. My quilt fell to the ground. Then I headed to the door. As I opened the door, there was a long eerie creak. A shiver ran through my spine, as I stepped out into the dim corridor. The lone light in the corridor started to flicker. Then it went black. Pitch black. Sweat was streaming down face, my teeth were chattering, and I was shaking uncontrollably. I felt like I was in a horror film, every step I took, I looked round almost expecting someone to be their waiting for me. Amongst the shadows.
After what seemed like hours I finally reached what seemed to be the door. I knocked. But no answer. I knocked several more times, but still there was no answer. Just an unnerving silence. So I pushed against the door and surprisingly it swung open, banging the wall as it did. I heard someone shouting, telling me to keep the noise down. But I didn’t care. I just needed to know everything was alright. After a couple of minutes of just staring into the darkness, I stepped into the room. Then there were footsteps. Where were they coming from? They seemed to be getting closer. I scrambled for a light switch, there was a click. The sudden amount of light blinded me, but it didn’t bother me, at least I felt safer now. Well at least I thought I did.
As my eyes scanned the room they were met by something. Something I wasn’t expecting. They were met by something that I will never forget. Something, that I will see every time I close my eyes. Something that will scar me for life.
I screamed. No sound came out .I tried to run, but I was frozen to the spot. I couldn’t believe that someone who I had been talking to just a few hours earlier was dead. Her eyes were wide open, they were staring at me, and I could see the shock and terror embedded in them. Most of her body was covered in blood, her lovely golden shoulder length hair, was blood stained. I could see something bulging out one side of her head; it was disgusting, my eyes soon drifted away from it. There were several stab wounds, in her chest; I could only see parts of the purple pyjamas she had been wearing, the blood was overwhelming.
Then I heard a crash come from the bathroom, a weird feeling came over me, something I couldn’t explain. It all went silent again for a couple of minutes, like nothing had happened. I began to think that I had been imagining things, but then there was another crash and then another.
It was then that I realized. I was not alone.
