Two pigeons sat upon the fence. One cooed unto his mate, “Will you come and fly with me, and rest upon that gate?” The mate replied with a cheeky smile, “I’ll come across and sit a while And we can share some tasty food But whatever you do, do not be rude.” The pigeon laughed, “What, do you think I’d be obscene? Nay, but blink And I’ll be gone, for I love you more Than any other I did before But I have no time on you to waste If you don’t love me, then make haste And tell me, so that I may go And cuddle with another so.” She responded, “Do not depart For I love you with all my heart. If you were to leave and not return Then surely, with my heart that burns In adoration of your beauty Would never find another so suited As you to me, and I to you. I’m grateful for that initial coo, Since had you not attracted me I would have not been able to see The one I want to spend my life with. This is the truth, believe, it’s not a myth You are the one who’s one my love, I’d never fall for a sparrow or dove.” And so they sat and spent a while Romantically, as such is the style Of love’s path, and they stayed as one Until their time on Earth was done.
